Welcome to the 2009
Central Ohio Chapter, Safari Club International Annual Banquet and
Fundraiser!! We look forward to you joining us on January 31.
While we want everyone to enjoy the evening’s events, we also want to
take this opportunity to highlight the challenges that face each of us
as hunters and sportsmen.
Whether you hunt rabbits or rhinos, whether you hunt with a gun or a
bow, there is a growing and powerful sector of society whose political
agenda is to end our rights as hunters and gun owners. It is important
for us to realize that those who oppose us are every bit as passionate
about ending hunting and gun ownership as we are about our love of
hunting and our time in the field.
In order to successfully combat this agenda, we too have to pull
together as Sportsmen/Sportswomen and Outdoorsmen/Outdoorswomen and
become passionate and diligent in our efforts to promote our political
agenda. We need to educate the undecided in society of the vital role
hunting plays in wildlife management. We need to support those in the
political arena who believe enforcement of existing gun laws on those
that handle weapons irresponsibly makes more sense than new laws on
responsible and law-abiding owners.
Safari Club International is comprised of hunters and outdoorsmen and
women concerned about hunting and wildlife preservation. Your membership
and enrollment of new members who share these concerns are vital to the
fight to preserve these goals.
In the Membership section of this web site, there is a membership
application. We encourage you to talk to your friends about the Safari
Club International and help us recruit new members to the Central Ohio
Chapter.
